Tubby Olive to Open Doylestown Location Friday

The Tubby Olive will be located on West State Street in Doylestown, next to Artistic Pizzeria.

The Tubby Olive will open its newest location Friday at 6 West State Street in Doylestown, next to Artistic Pizzeria. This is the third location for The Tubby Olive, which operates stores in Newtown and Philadelphia.

The Tubby Olive sells extra virgin olive oils, aged balsamic vinegars and gourmet foods such as pastas, mustards and tapenades.

"We are thrilled to be part of the culinary landscape in Doylestown," co-owners Sharon Huss and Nancy Murray said in a statement. "Both Newtown and Doylestown are great for strolling, shopping and enjoying culinary offerings. We look forward to meeting new people in Doylestown and discussing recipe ideas and gift selections."

Some of the olive oil offerings include blood orange, Persian lime, wild mushroom and sage, and Tuscan herb, as well as traditional oils from around the world.

According to information from the store, the balsamic vinegars are aged up to 18 years and include red apple, maple, cinnamon pear, dark chocolate, and black cherry.

Tastings are available at the store.

"We love discussing recipes with our customers—they are available in our stores and online,” said Huss. “You'd be surprised at what you can do with these products—from appetizers to desserts—they will add a flavorful twist to your foods.”

The Tubby Olive opened its first store in 2010 on State Street in Newtown. In September 2012, they opened their second store at Reading Terminal Market in Philadelphia.

"Each store has a unique feel," said Murray. "Our Newtown store is in a historic building dating from 1792 and has three rectangular rooms painted in warm colors and hardwood floors, giving it a cozy feel," she added. "The Reading Terminal Market store is more modern-looking. We feel that the Doylestown store is a blend of the two with its tin craft ceilings, dark hardwood floors, and modern-style cabinets."

A grand opening celebration is planned for Nov. 22 and will feature food tastings, door prizes and sale items.
