Doylestown Food Co-Op Grand Opening Celebration Set for Feb. 8

The Doylestown Food Co-op will celebrate its grand opening on Feb. 8.

The Co-op, located on West State Street in Doylestown Borough, opened its doors to customers earlier this month for a soft opening. “Things are still a work in progress, with new product coming in daily and arranging and rearranging,” the Co-op announced on its website.

The 1,400-square-foot store sells locally produced vegetables, fruits, meats, dairy products, cheese, soaps and more. 

“Our community-based grocery store will provide convenient, year-round access to healthy, fresh, local, and organic products. We will work closely with our local producers and incorporate the feedback of our members in developing and designing our store and co-op community,” the co-op website says.

Current store hours are Tuesday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Friday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  

If you’re interested in learning more about the Co-op, check out the monthly Food for Thought book club, which is sponsored by the Co-op and held montly at the Doylestown Bookshop. The club meets on the second Tuesday of the month; titles vary but focus on topics that relate to healthy, sustainable food sources.
