Bikram Yoga to Open Studio in Doylestown

Bucks County’s first Bikram Yoga Studio will open in Doylestown this winter.  

According to Molly Mitnick, studio director, Bikram Yoga will open locally this winter at the Shoppes at Blueberry Hill on South Easton Road.

“We are in the very beginning stages of the buildout but hope to be open in December,” she told Doylestown Patch in an email. She said the studio will be located in the carriage house, behind the Blueberry Hill Mansion.

According to Mitnick, Bikram Yoga is the original hot yoga. “It is a series of 26 postures and two breathing techniques done in a room heated to 105 degrees and 40 percent humidity,” she said.

Mitnick said Bikram Yoga, which is practiced by celebrities like Lady Gaga, has quickly gained popularity due to its many benefits, including increased flexibility and detoxification.

Bikram Yoga is a franchise, with hundreds of studios worldwide. 

Mitnick has been teaching yoga for almost three years at seven different studios in the Philadelphia area. She said she is excited to bring the Bikram Yoga experience to Doylestown.
