Gold Ingot Stolen From Doylestown Shop

Police say a 21-year-old man pocketed a piece of gold worth $295 from the Doylestown Gold Exchange.

A Doylestown man has been charged with theft after police say he stole from a local gold-buying shop. Nicholas Stickel, 21, Winterberry Drive, Doylestown, has been charged with theft and receiving stolen property, according to court records. According to Doylestown Borough Police, Stickel went to the Doylestown Gold Exchange on Friday, Feb. 1, to sell something. He submitted identification, as required, police chief Jim Donnelly said. "During the transaction, the clerk got distracted," Donnelly said. "Later, he realized a gold bar that had been on display on the counter was missing."
