One Billion Rising Dances Into Doylestown
Watch as women and those who love them gathered in Doylestown Thursday as part of a global protest of violence against women.
Clad in pink and red, dozens of (mostly) women gathered on the four corners of State and Main in Doylestown on Thursday to dance to a powerful message. It was Central Bucks' contribution to the 1 Billion Rising movement, a global protest of violence against women. Organizers invited women worldwide to rise up and demand an end to rape and violence that they say will strike an estimated 1 in 3 women worldwide, citing a 2003 UNIFEM report entitled "Not A Minute More: Ending Violence Against Women," and 2008's UNITE To End Violence Against Women Campaign.
