Kids are encouraged to bring castle draws, ideas and Christmas wishes for the new playground.
Santa Claus is a busy guy this time of year, but he's still finding time to donate a few hours to the effort to save Kids Castle, the iconic play castle in Doylestown Township's Central Park. Santa will visit Kids Castle on Saturday, Dec. 8. As is Santa's tradition in Doylestown, he will arrive by fire truck, and is expected to appear at 9:30 a.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring a camera to get a free photo with Santa. The event is free, but families are asked to bring some coins for Santa's kettle; all proceeds will not only to go the effort to save Kids Castle, but Byers Choice will match all the donations that Santa gathers on Saturday. Byers’ Choice, makers of the handcrafted Caroler figurines, is continuing its holiday season events with a live nativity for Bucks County-area fans this weekend, Saturday Nov. 17 through Sunday, Nov. 18. Families of all ages are invited to the company’s Chalfont gardens to get up close to sheep, lambs, donkeys and other Nativity animals. The bakery that stars in TLC's "Cake Boss" is making a birthday cake for Charles Dickens for an event at Byers Choice.
Those who attend Byers Choice's upcoming birthday bash for Charles Dickens will be in for a sweet surprise. Carlo’s Bakery, of TLC’s "The Cake Boss" television show, is creating the birthday cake for the late author of "A Christmas Carol." The cake will be unveiled on Friday as part of a weekend-long celebration in honor of what would have been Dickens' 200th birthday. Byers Choice is hosting the party at its headquarters on County Line Road. Gerald Dickens will be traveling from London to kick off the event, Dawn Byers said Thursday. "The Bucks County Tourist" is a limited edition Byers' Choice Caroler® figurine that was created in time for the holiday season with Visit Bucks County's mission in mind. "We are thrilled to partner with Byers' Choice to create 'The Bucks County Tourist' caroler, which symbolizes our mission; to promote tourism in our county.' Executive Director of Visit Bucks County, Jerry Lepping stated in a press release.
