Police converged on a Warminster apartment building Tuesday night where a man allegedly exchanged gunfire with police, leaving a 90-year-old dead, according to reports.
UPDATED: 1:50 a.m. Warminster police are evacuating an apartment complex and nearby residents while a standoff with an alleged gunman continues. Police were called to the Jefferson on the Creek apartment complex, 675 E. Street Rd., Warminster, for a domestic disturbance at about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and "were met with gufire," according to Warminster Police Chief Mike Murphy. The police and the gunman had a "firefight for a short period of time" before the man barricaded himself and his common law wife inside the apartment, Murphy said. The woman eventually got out of the apartment and is being interviewed by police. No police officers have been injured so far, Murphy said. Jose Delgado faces several charges including discharging a firearm, terroristic threats, simple assault, reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct.
Police say a man who allegedly fired off several shots inside a County Line Road eatery Friday morning has turned himself in. NBC10 reported Jose Delgado, accompanied by his lawyer, surrendered to Warminster Police last night. Delgado faces several charges including discharging a firearm, terroristic threats, simple assault, reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. He is being held at the Bucks County Correctional Facility on $500,000 bail. A Chalfont police officer was wounded after being shot in the chest early Monday morning near the Lenape Valley Swim Club.
A standard piece of police equipment just may have saved the life of a Chalfont police officer Monday morning. Chalfont Borough officer Jon Cousin was shot in the chest early Monday morning while investigating a suspicious vehicle. But he was wearing a bulletproof vest, and within hours, had been treated and released from an area hospital. The officer was shot around 3:30 a.m. when he was checking into a suspicious vehicle on the 100 block of Westview Avenue, near the Lenape Valley Swim Club. Police said Cousin was wearing a bulletproof vest when he was shot in the chest. He was taken to Abington Memorial Hospital for treatment. A Temple University student from the Doylestown area was in critical condition Monday after an overnight shooting in Philadelphia. 6ABC reported Monday that Rob Eells, 21, was shot after he exchanged gunfire with three men who tried to rob him. Eells was in critical condition Monday afternoon at Temple University Hospital, according to hospital spokesman Rick Cushman. According to 6ABC, the shooting happened near N. 12th and Dauphin around 1:45 a.m. Monday. As Eells and a roommate were smoking outside their apartment, three men tried to rob them at gunpoint, but Eells, who also has a license to carry a gun, shot back, wounding one of the assailants.
