Work to Affect Doylestown-Area Roads

Lane closures are scheduled for major commuter roads, including the Route 611 bypass, Upper State Road, and Routes 202 and 309.

Periodic lane closures will affect several major area roads in Bucks and Montgomery counties as construction of the Route 202 Parkway continues, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said. Drivers on Stump Road in Warrington Township will encounter periodic single lane conditions between County Line Road and Route 152 (Limekiln Pike) on Monday through Friday (Oct. 15-19) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for drainage work, milling and paving. Road Work to Affect Doylestown-Area Roads

Continuing work on the Route 202 Parkway will affect several commuter corridors near Doylestown this week.

Drivers will encounter periodic lane closures in Bucks and Montgomery counties this week for Route 202 Parkway construction, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said. The 8.4 mile, state-funded Parkway is scheduled to open later this fall between Montgomeryville and Doylestown. Periodic lane closures in Montgomery, Lower Gwynedd and Upper Gwynedd townships will slow travel on Route 202 (DeKalb Pike) between Swedesford and Knapp roads and Route 63 (Welsh Road) between Stump and North Wales roads on Monday through Friday (Oct. 8-12) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Crews will pave, paint lines and complete miscellaneous construction activities on both roads that were widened to four lanes at its connection with the Parkway. News Nearby: Part of County Line to be Closed Next Weekend

SEPTA will resurface the railroad crossing on the Warminster Line, closing County Line Road between Park and Oakdale avenues from Oct. 12-15.

County Line Road will be closed between Park Avenue and Oakdale Avenue in Warminster from Friday, October 12 at 7 p.m. to Monday the 15th at 4 a.m., SEPTA recently announced. Crews will spend the weekend resurfacing the Warminster train line's railroad crossing on County Line Road. Vehicles traveling eastbound on County Line are advised to take York Road north to Street Road, travel eastbound on Street Road to Jacksonville, then take Jacksonville south to County Line. Westbound drivers are advised to take the reverse path. Oakdale and Park avenues will remain accessible to drivers during construction. Shuttle service between Warminster and Jenkintown stations will be available for weekend rail riders.

New Britain Road to Remain Closed Until August

The PennDOT project is expected to continue for several more weeks.

An operation to rebuild and improve New Britain Road in Doylestown Township will close the road to through traffic for six weeks, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. The project, which began on July 9, is expected to be finished by Aug. 19. PennDOT’s contractor will work over the next month to restore and resurface the pavement on this township-owned road which sustained damage during construction of the Route 202 Parkway. Road Work to Affect Travel This Week

Intersection of Upper State Road and Bristol Road Closed Next Weekend; Ten-Month Detour of Pickertown Road Starts Nov. 1

Motorists in Bucks and Montgomery counties will encounter travel restrictions this week, Oct. 24-31, on several area roads as well as a weekend closure of the intersection of Upper State Road and Bristol Road for construction of the Route 202 Parkway, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said recently.   The intersection of Upper State and Bristol roads will be closed in New Britain, Doylestown and Warrington townships, Bucks County from 6 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30 for pavement reconstruction and resurfacing. East Court Street to be Closed

Residents and business owners must move their cars off the street by 6 am on Thursday.

An important stretch of E. Court Street in Doylestown will be closed for about a week while borough workers improve the road. The section of the road to be affected stretches from Broad Street, at the courthouse, past Doylestown Presbyterian Church, Salem United Church of Christ and the Doylestown Cemetery, to East Street. Residents and business owners are asked to move their cars off of E. Court by Thursday, Oct. 20 at 6 a.m. That's when borough workers will begin tac coating and then paving the road, officials said Tuesday. The borough warned that the coating will stick to cars and feet - so don't plan to walk or drive through the area after work has started. Drivers will encounter daytime lane closures this week, Sept. 26-30, on several roads in Bucks and Montgomery counties for construction of the Route 202 Parkway, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said recently.   County Line Road in New Britain and Montgomery townships will be reduced to a single lane between Stump and Upper State roads Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for drainage construction.
