Quick-Moving Fire Destroys Chalfont Home
No one was injured when a fire broke out at a home in Chalfont, but the house was destroyed.
No one was injured but a home was destroyed by a fire in Chalfont on Tuesday. The fire broke out at 209 Hampshire Dr., Chalfont, around 2 p.m. Chalfont Fire Department Chief Dennis McGuire said firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke and fire coming from the home. Firefighters had the blaze out by about 2:30 p.m., but the fire had moved fast, wreaking widespread damage. "It was under control pretty fast, but it was a lot of fire," McGuire told Patch. "Structurally, the house looks ok, but the interior is a loss. It's uninhabitable." The fire started in the kitchen area of the home, McGuire said.
