Kids Descend on Fred Beans

Kids went to work for the day at the Fred Beans family of dealerships.

More than 100 children joined their moms, dads or other significant adults on April 26 for Take Our Sons and Daughters to Work Day at Fred Beans Family of Dealerships in Doylestown. The kids engaged in tasks, tours and interacting with coworkers at the parents’ worksites, where they learned about the adults’ jobs and what it feels like to work for a company with so many different facets and responsibilities. After the morning’s activities, parents and children met up at the Fred Beans Dodge dealership for box lunches and the day’s special program. It was the kind of experience that has no age limit or job criteria: everyone giggled, grinned, gasped and guffawed at the illusions, jokes and side-splitting gags performed by professional …

Beans Bans Lighting Up

The Doylestown-based car dealership is now smokefree for all employees, vendors and customers.

Doylestown's Fred Beans car dealerships will mark one month of being smoke-free this week. Beth Beans Gilbert, vice president of the 1500-employee organization, announced the initiative at the employee holiday luncheons that took place in December. It applies to vendors and customers as well as the company’s employees. “We feel this is the right thing to do for all of us, for several very good reasons,” says Gilbert. “Employees who smoke impact the cost of health insurance coverage for all of us, nonsmokers as well as smokers…

Doylestown Dealership Shows off new Luxury Model

2011 Equus sedan premieres at Fred Beans Hyundai

About 50 people attended an invitation-only sneak peek at the new Hyundai Equus this week at Fred Beans Hyundai on West Swamp Road in Doyelstown. Eugene Ott, of Doylestown, spent a lot of time in each of the seats of the granite gray Equus Ultimate that had been driven into town just for the premiere. Then he walked all around it, checking out every angle and every feature he could without driving it off the showroom floor. Gesturing toward the engine under the open hood, Ott sighed, "Beautiful. Everything's covered—it's really nice!" Ott and his wife, Eleanor, have a 2009 Hyundai Genesis, and it's clear Eugene wouldn't mind having a 2011 Equus, too. There were no test drives this night, but sales people were taking requests for a …
