Wish You Were Here: a Postcard Perspective of Chalfont-New Britain

This book takes readers on a pictorial trip through the history of the New Britain area.

Walk into Robert L. Showalter's office and simultaneously peek into history. You'll look into the history of the building: the former Simon Butler House, owned by one of New Britain Township's prominent early settlers. You'll take a gander at civil engineering practices of the past: built-in bookcases along the walls display Showalter's collection of surveying instruments and old engineering books. And you'll get a glimpse of the history of the township: old maps and memorabilia of land that once spread over 20,000 acres. So it stands to reason that this self-confessed history buff has chronicled his collection of antique postcards from the area into a published book.
