Today is the last day to vote to help an area school district win $100,000. It could be in Upper Moreland or Hatboro-Horsham. According to users who voted in our annual Deck the House contest, these homes have the best holiday lights in the county. Patch had tons of national entries in this year’s Deck the House contest and then chose 25 finalists from all our entries across the country. From now through Dec. 28, vote for one of our local entries and that person could win $100,000 for his or her local school district. To vote for the Upper Moreland entry: visit this page. It takes time and dedication to string all those lights across rooftops. And it’s not easy to capture those lights on your camera either. Here are three tips for all the amateur photographers out there; they could help you win our Deck the House contest. Use these tips to take a picture of your holiday lights. Post the picture to Doylestown Patch’s Deck the House contest page and you could win $100,000 for Council Rock and $500 toward your electric bill. Want to get more technical than that? We want to find the most over-the-top holiday decorations in America—the best “decked” house in the country—the one home so spectacularly decorated that everyone in town jokes your holiday decorations could rival Rockefeller Center’s. If this sounds like your house, upload a photo or video of your home to our contest page from Nov. 26 to Dec. 16. Only residents of Patch towns are eligible to enter. We’ll select 24 regional finalists, and from them, pick one grand prize winner. Patch will pay up to $500 of the utility bill for each finalist, while our national winner will have $100,000 donated to his or her local school district. Patch.com is launching a nationwide contest to find the best-dressed home in its Patch communities, and the winner’s school district will receive $100,000, no strings attached.
