East Swimmers Split Meet with Hatboro-Horsham

The ladies picked up their second win of the season, but the boys came up short.

The Central Bucks East High School swim teams notched one win and one loss against Hatbor0-Horsham this week. The Lady Patriots defeated the Hatters on the road 111-74, but the boys did not fare as well, losing 104-79. "Hatboro has always been a very competitive meet, and today was no exception," girls coach Thomas Kane said after the win. The team was a bit smaller than usual, as Mackenzie Hubing and Chrissy Maragakes were both out of the lineup due to sickness. But that didn't slow the team down as they picked up their second consecutive win. "It was a great effort. Despite missing two swimmers, the rest of the team picked them up and we came out with a big win," Kane added. The girls were lead by Katie Demptser, who placed first in …

CB East Swimmers Take on Archrival

The Patriots face off against Souderton Tuesday in their first, and perhaps biggest, match of the season.

 The Central Bucks East swim team dives into its season on Tuesday, and it just happens to be starting with a matchup against the team's biggest rival. "Our biggest meet is probably the first one of the season against Souderton," Michael Cox said. "It's always close and they are our biggest rival." Cox, one of the team's captains along with Kerry Thompson, will lead the East swimmers as they start their season against Souderton at 3:30 p.m. The Patriots have one of the more talented teams in the Suburban One League this season but coach Ed Walsh doesn't want to let that go to his boys' heads. "It is always difficult to say how good we are going to be," said Walsh, who has coached the team for the past 38 seasons. "With six …
