Title Slips Away from East in OT

The Patriots lost the PIAA soccer championship Saturday to Hempfield

With five minutes to go in the PIAA Class AAA boys soccer championship, you could see the celebration plans beginning to form above the heads of the Central Bucks East Patriots. Kenny Haug had scored the game's first and, hopefully, only goal with 5:15 to play, giving CB East a 1-0 lead over District 3's Hempfield. The party hadn't started, but guests were arriving. "Yeah, with five minutes left, we usually lock down leads," East goalkeeper Shane Donovan said later. "I don't even know what happened."
