The oldest high school in Central Bucks, West originally opened in 1952 as the Central Bucks Joint HighMore School. Today, it is one of three high schools in the Central Bucks School District, along with Central Bucks East, in Buckingham and Central Bucks South, in Warrington. It is a three-year school with 10th, 11th and 12th grades; feeder schools include Lenape and Tohicknon Middle Schools.

Named in 2010 by Newsweek as one of the top high schools in the country (ranked 1424th out of 1623 schools), CB East isMore proud of its academic heritage. The school offers 17 Advanced Placement courses and a wide variety of electives. Students also can choose from a vast array of extracurricular clubs and sports. Built in 1969, the school underwent renovations in 1995. Holicong and Tohickon middle schools both feed into CB East.
