The Religious Society of Friends, also known as Quakers, has a rich history in Bucks County. Friends wereMore meeting regularly in Doylestown as far back as 1806, and built the meetinghouse on East Oakland Avenue in 1836. It was recognized as a Monthly Meeting in 1951. Today, the Doylestown Friends Meeting is one of 13 Meetings in Bucks, and many of its members are active in social justice and peace movements in and around Doylestown. Its meetinghouse is the oldest house of worship in Doylestown in continuous use by the same group. Sunday worship is at 10 a.m. and child care is available.
