Small Business Saturday, Tree Lighting Among Weekend Events

Enjoy the weekend after Thanksgiving with these local happenings.

Here's what's going on in and around Doylestown this weekend:

SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY

What: Celebrated between Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Small Business Saturday recognizes independent businesses and encourages people to shop local. As an added incentive to shop local, Patch and American Express are partnering to offer free parking in Doylestown.

TREE LIGHTING
What: The official start to the Christmas season will begin with the annual tree lighting ceremony
When/where: 6 p.m. at the plaza by Starbucks in Doylestown Borough
Cost: Free

CHRISTMAS TREE SALE
What: A Christmas tree sale to benefit Central Bucks West band programs
When/where: Beginning Saturday at CB West High School War Memorial Stadium
Cost: Prices vary

JOHNNY'S DANCE BAND
What: Enjoy an evening of live music as Johhny's Dance Band performs in Doylestown
When/where: Saturday at 8 p.m. at Puck, 1 Printers Alley
Cost: $15 in advance

HOLIDAY SHOPPING EXTRAVAGANZA 
What: Get a jump start on your holiday shopping. Vendors include jewelry, skin care, candles, cooking items, accessories and more.
When/where: Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Doylestown Township Activity Center, 425 Wells Rd.
Cost: Entrance is free, items vary
