Fonthill to Host Old Fashioned July 4th Celebration

Highlights include a watermelon eating contest, sack races, tug-o-war, bucket brigade relay races, 19th century baseball and the popular cakewalk.

If you’re in town for July 4, you’ll have plenty to celebrate at Fonthill Castle.

Fonthill’s Old Fashioned Fourth of July celebration will be held from noon to 4 p.m. and will feature food, games, crafts, music and more.

Highlights include a watermelon eating contest, sack races, tug-o-war, bucket brigade relay races, 19th century baseball and the popular cakewalk.

“There will be a selection of vendors offering a variety of summer time snacks and treats or you may bring your own picnic and spread a blanket on Fonthill’s grounds,” according to an event announcement.

Fonthill Castle will also be open for self-guided tours.
