Barbershop Show, Pet Portraits Among Weekend Events

Plus, there are two free movies Friday night at the Wrightstown Village Library and an antiques show in New Hope.

What: The Bucks County Country Gentlemen will perform its 39th Annual Barbershop Show. The featured quartet is Round Midnight.

When/where: Saturday at 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at Lenape Middle School, 313 W State Street, Doylestown

Cost: $15 in advance or $18 at the door

PROFESSIONAL PET PORTRAITS

What: Capture your pet in a portrait by Jane Caruso-Dahms. The event supports Roxy Reading Therapy Dogs.

When/where: Saturday starting at 9 a.m. at the Doylestown Township Building, 425 Wells Road, Doylestown.

Cost: $25 session fee, minimum print order of $50

MOVIE NIGHT

What: It’s a double feature night at the Wrightstown Village Library. “Monsters University” will be screened followed by “The Internship.”

When/where: Friday at 6 p.m., 727 Penns Park Rd., Wrightstown

Cost: Free, refreshments will be available for purchase 

ANTIQUES SHOW

What: The Bucks County Antiques Dealers Association will hold an antiques show in New Hope. The show will feature a variety of antiques from a select group of exhibitors.

When/where: Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Eagle Fire Hall, Rt. 202 & Sugan Road in New Hope

Cost: Admission is $6 or $5 with a postcard or advertisement.  Children under 16 are free, as is parking. On Sunday from noon to 3 p.m., members from the Pennsylvania Antiques Appraisers Association will appraise antiques for $10 an item.

CARING FOR EARTH

What: A discussion about the global warming and environmental protection will be hosted at Newtown Friends Meetinghouse.

When/where: Sunday at 9:45 a.m. at the historic Newtown Friends Meetinghouse, 219 Court Street.

Cost: Free, the public is invited. 

MEET ARTIE BENNETT

What: Meet acclaimed children’s author Artie Bennett, who will read and sign copies of his best-selling books, including “The Butt Book” and “Poopendous!" 

When/where: Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. at Farley’s Bookshop, 44 South Main St., New Hope
