Jakestock '12 is being held in memory of Jake Revere, who died at age 16 in a skiing accident in 2008. To honor their son, Rich and Robin Revere of Doylestown established a memorial scholarship to be awarded to students from Central Bucks East High School, where Jake was a 10th-grader. Jake would have finished his sophomore year at college this spring.

Last year’s Jakestock raised more than $5,000. Last year, a CB East senior received a $1,000 scholarship.

The Reveres established the Jake Revere Foundation to help those in need of financial assistance. The foundation includes the Jake R. Revere Memorial Scholarship Fund, which benefits Central Bucks graduating seniors. The foundation also helps those in need in the local community, especially children who otherwise couldn't participate in positive social and educational activities. The Jake Revere Campership Fund provides a yearly scholarship to a graduating Boy Scout from Troop 6 of the , Jake's former troop.

Again this year, many of Jake’s friends have been involved in the planning of Jakestock and will help run the event. Many will be returning home from college for the summer.

“It just makes me feel very grateful that people still care,” said Robin. “They want to show support and keep Jake’s spirit alive. It’s a good day to celebrate Jake.” Robin stays in touch with many of Jake’s friends through Facebook and e-mail.

The Revere’s three daughters, Kacey, 18, Kellie, 14, and Sophie, 12, will also lend a hand.

This year’s raffles include an authentic Phillies jersey signed by Mike Schmidt, Phillies Hall of Fame third baseman. Gift cards from local merchants will also be raffled, including a $500 gift card to C and C Photo Studios of Doylestown, a $100 gift card to Carroll's Jewelers in Doylestown, a birthday party at the Little Gym of Doylestown, along with other gift cards and items from local merchants.

Popular Jakestock merchandise including T-shirts, lanyards, bracelets and decals will again be for sale this year. New this year, and available only online for a limited time, are the Jakestock 2012 pinnies. Order at www.jakerevere.com. Also new this year is a plant sale featuring hanging baskets with beautiful annual flowers.
