9th Annual Habitat for Humanity 5K and Kids Fun Run!

It's time to lace up those sneaks and start training for the Ninth Annual Habitat for Humanity 5K! The Quakertown Rotary Club and Quakertown United Methodist Church are once again hosting the Habitat 5K Race at the Quakertown United Methodist Church, 1875 Frier Road, on Saturday, November 27.

Registration opens at 8:00am, with the ¾-mile Kid's Race at 9:30am and the 5K starting at 10am. Awards for the top male and female will be presented along some 'special' awards.  All proceeds of the race benefit Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County.

Race organizer, Bill Tuszynski, is as excited as ever for this year's event.

"As always, Quakertown Rotary's Habitat 5K is a highlight of the Thanksgiving weekend. The race is a good workout, equal to fighting the Black Friday crowds and a lot cheaper to boot. With indoor registration and bathrooms, your posse can come cheer for you and stay comfortable. The race has grown to over 200 runners and walkers since we started in 2002 and is both a challenge for competitive runners and a fun experience for those like me in the back of the pack."

A Quakertown resident, Tuszynski founded the race in 2002 and has been directing it with the precision of a clockmaker ever since. "We'll have a few new wrinkles on food and prizes to keep things fun and, as always, I've got my tux ready to go!"
