DelVal Player Signs with Reading Express

Mike Lewis is already in uniform for the Indoor Football League team.

Delaware Valley College football standout Mike Lewis recently signed a contract with the Reading Express of the Indoor Football League (IFL).

Lewis was in uniform and wearing number 71 for the Express in their 31-14 win over the Arizona Adrenaline last Sunday. The 6-foot-3, 290-pound lineman was credited with one tackle in the game.

Lewis was a two-time all-Middle Atlantic Conference and Eastern College Athletic Conference first-team offensive tackle. He also earned a spot on the 2010 D3football.com All-East Region second team.

Lewis helped win the last three consecutive MAC championships, capture the 2008 ECAC South Atlantic Bowl and reach the second round of the NCAA Division III playoffs in both 2009 and 2010. He graduated in December with a degree in business administration.

The Reading Express is one of 22 franchises in the IFL. The squad is 2-2 on the season and will host the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks on Friday, April 1 at the Sovereign Center.
