Potential Teacher Strike Averted as District, Union Reach Agreement

Both parties are scheduled to vote on the agreement on Aug. 26, the district announced on its website.

The Central Bucks School District and the Central Bucks Education Association have reached a tentative agreement on a new teachers’ contract, the district announced Tuesday on its website.

Both parties are scheduled to vote on the agreement on Aug. 26, the district announced. Details on the contract will not be made public until the CBEA membership votes that day.

In May, Central Bucks School District Superintendent David Weitzel said there was a "strong possibility" the district's teachers would strike in the fall.

The current contract, which was supposed to expire June 30, has been extended "by mutual consent" until a new contract is approved, the district said.
