Local Students Receive College Honors

Local students have been honored at their colleges and universities.

The following students have been honored at their colleges and universities.


Kirsten Myers of New Britain, received the Toni Morrison-Wole Soyinka Africana Studies Essage Award at Gettysburg College's Fall Honors Day ceremonies.

Kaitlyn Cook of Doylestown, has been named to the Dean's List at Carleton College. She is the daughter of John Cook and Karen Cook.

Samantha Nestory, of Doylestown, and Emily Strasburg, of Doylestown, were recognized at the University of Delaware. Award recipients earned 18 or more Honors credits in their first two years at the University and have overall GPAs of 3.20 or higher.

Nicholas Moffett, a student in the 5th form (11th-grade) at Kent School in Kent, Conn., was named to the honor roll for the fall term of 2012-2013. Moffett is the child of William and Brenda Moffett of Doylestown.

Ali Roth, of Doylestown, a junior at Gettysburg College, spent the Fall 2012 semester studying in Australia.

Andrew Glavin of Doylestown, a first-year student at Gettysburg College, was awarded a Presidential Scholarship by the college. The Presidential Scholarship goes to top-ranking applicants based upon their grade-point average, class rank, and SAT or ACT scores.

Luke Davis, of Doylestown, was inducted into James Madison University's chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma, an international honor society for business students. To be eligible, an undergraduate student must be a junior or senior and rank in the upper 10 percent of their respective class. Davis is on track to graduate in May 2014 with a degree in finance.
