Kutz Kids 'Read Across America'

The kids had to decide if they wanted to be a Yook or a Zook.

Read Across America challenges children across the country to celebrate reading, and this year, Michelle Blair's first grade class at Kutz Elementary chose a Dr. Seuss theme.

Blair's parents visited the class to help the kids celebrate. "Mrs. Mac" read The Butter Battle by Dr. Seuss and the kids decided if they wanted to be a “Yook” or a “Zook” from the story.

The Zooks had to eat their bread butter side down and the Yooks had to eat their bread butter side up. The kids got a side of green eggs to go along with their bread.

In math, they made a graph on the Smart Notebook to see how many liked, didn’t like, or sort of liked the eggs. The kids even played a fun Green Eggs and Ham game too.
