Acting Superintendent to be Appointed Tuesday

The Central Bucks School Board is expected to appoint David P. Weitzel as the district's acting superintendent.

The Central Bucks School Board of Directors is expected to appoint David P. Weitzel as acting superintendent during a meeting Tuesday. Weitzel has served as the district's assistant superintendent for elementary education since 2006.

He will replace Rodney Green, who left Central Bucks after the district approved a costly separation agreement earlier this month. Green had only been at Central Bucks since October.

In the past, Weitzel was a principal at Warwick and New-Hope Solebury elementary schools.

“Dr. Weitzel has developed and maintained high quality educational programs for the 15 Central Bucks elementary schools.  He looks forward to working closely with the School Board, the Cabinet, and all Central Bucks administrators to bring renewed focus to our core mission of teaching and learning,” a press release from the district said.
