Halloween at Kids Castle—A Howling Success!

More than 300 children, ages preschool through sixth grade, attended the Trick-or-Treat at Kids Castle event on Saturday, October 26.

Children received treats at eighteen trick-or-treat stations sponsored by local middle and high school groups.

Favorite costumes included Sulley and Mike from Monsters, Inc., a sorcerer, and a black spider.

Emceeing the event was DJ Mike Mandato. Children and their families were also entertained by the Give and Take Jugglers and ventriloquist Scott Wagstaff.

Karen Birmingham, co-coordinator of the Save Kids Castle Middle School Committee, said about the event, “It was great to see so many families enjoying a beautiful fall day at the castle. It’s wonderful to see the middle and high school students come out to support the efforts to renovate the castle and preserve it for the next generation of children. Kids Castle is truly a magical place and we’re so fortunate to  have it as part of our community.”

A big thank you to the community organizations that helped with the event: Jack and Jill of America, the Central Bucks Family YMCA, and Girl Scout Troop 1128!

Continued support is needed as Phase II of the three-phase project begins. Plans call for installation of additional playground equipment designed for younger children, as well as handicap accessible pieces to be as inclusive as possible. The bar has been set high, as it will require an overall fundraising campaign of more than $600,000 to complete.
