Lenape Middle School’s Department of Music Raises $758 for Kids Castle

Music Department Raises $758 for Kids Castle

Lenape Middle School’s Music Department has generously donated $758 to help Save Kids Castle. The money raised came from a gift basket raffle that the Music Department held earlier this spring. Items were donated by the Lenape choir, band, orchestra students and parents. Raffle tickets were sold at three concerts and the drawing was held at the last concert on May 15.

Jaime Rogers, director of choirs at Lenape Middle School, whose own children just started going to Kids Castle, shared with her class about the first trip she took to the castle with her daughter. Students eagerly joined in the conversation and shared stories about the time that they spent there as children. “When I heard that Kids Castle was in need of financial support to stay open, I knew that this would be a cause that our students could easily get behind,” she said. “Lenape music concerts always draw a big crowd, so I thought that this would be a great venue for holding a fundraiser. Our music parents are incredibly supportive and involved. We sent one email out to our parents and the donations started pouring in. We are so thankful to everyone involved for their support of this wonderful cause.”

The generosity of Lenape Middle School’s Music Department will go a long way to help preserve the castle and surrounding playground for current and future generations to enjoy.
