New Maps Installed in Doylestown

The new maps replace outdated ones scattered around town.

The Doylestown Business and Community Alliance recently led an effort to replace maps that are scattered throughout the downtown.

The maps provide information about Doylestown landmarks, street names and public parking. The new maps include the location of the Bucks County justice center, which is expected to be finished in 2013.

The new maps replace outdated and worn ones posted throughout the Doylestown Central Historical and Cultural District

Doylestown Rotary gave a $500 grant toward the project, and the DBCA matched that amount. Additional donations came from the Bradley Family Trust, Bucks County Civil War Round Table, Inc., Doylestown Borough Council, Gilmore & Associates, Inc., Memory of Don Stevens (a private donor), Jay Deppeler, M.Ed – Ravenhill Psychological Services.

The borough's public works employees installed the new maps this week at five locations.

The DBCA beautifies Doylestown using money raised through its membership dues and two major fundraising annual events: 5K Race Memorial Day Weekend and the Arts Festival.

Monies raised make possible the winter holiday decorations, holiday tree and lighting, giant dreidel, Santa Coming to Town, Santa’s House, and spring hanging flower baskets.
