Hummus Sold at Giant, Target Recalled Due to Listeria Concerns

More than 14,800 pounds of hummus and dip products are being recalled due to possible Listeria contamination, the US Food and Drug Administration announced Friday. The hummus products recalled were sold at Target and Giant stores in Pennsylvania.

Listeria can cause serious infections in young children and the elderly and can result in miscarriages among pregnant women, the FDA said.

The hummus was manufactured by Lansal, Inc, which makes products for Target, Giant and Trader Joe’s. 

Lansal has contacted all impacted retail distributors instructing them to remove all affected products from sale, the FDA said.

• Target Archer Farms Traditional Hummus
• Target Archer Farms Mediterranean Veggie Hummus Wrap and Archer Farms Hummus Veggie Snacker)
• Target Archer Farms Roasted Garlic with Roasted Garlic Tapenade
• Target Archer Farms Roasted Red Pepper with Roasted Red Pepper
• Giant Eagle Chipotle Hummus
• Giant Eagle Garlic Hummus
• Trader Joe’s Edamame Hummus
• Trader Joe’s 5 Layered Dip
• Tryst Yellow Lentil Hummus with Sunflower Seeds and Apricots

Consumers who have purchased the above hummus products are urged not to eat it and throw it away. Consumers should contact the store where the product was purchased for a full refund.
