Democrats Pick Strouse to Face Fitzpatrick in November

Strouse, a former Army Ranger, narrowly defeated Shaughnessy Naughton in the primary race for congress.

Kevin Strouse narrowly defeated Shaughnessy Naughton in the Democratic primary race for the 8th Congressional District.

Strouse will face incumbent Republican Mike Fitzpatrick in November.

According to unofficial results posted by Bucks County, Strouse received 51 percent of the vote. He earned 17,004 votes; Naughton got 16,348 votes. In Montgomery County, Strouse received 162 more votes than Naughton.

Strouse, 34, is a 2001 Columbia University graduate and a former Army Ranger and CIA officer. He served three tours in Afghanistan and one in Iraq. He lives in Middletown Township with his wife and two young children
