Democrat Joe Frederick and Republican Marguerite Quinn will appear at a debate moderated by The League of Women Voters.

The debate will be held Thursday, Oct. 11 at 7:30 p.m. at the Plumstead Township building at 5186 Stump Road, Pipersville, Pa. 18947

Voters are encouraged to attend the debate to learn more about these candidates for office.

The 143rd District covers parts of 10 municipalities in Central and Upper Bucks, and stretches from Doylestown up to Riegelsville.

Quinn, the incumbent, has held the seat since 2007. Before her, it was held by prominent local Republicans Chuck McIlhinney, Jr., Joe Conti, David Heckler and Jim Greenwood. Each of them went on to become the state senator for the 10th district, an office McIlhinney still holds.

A Democrat has not held the 143rd since Margaret George, who was in office from 1977 to 1980.
