Clean Up at Local Superfund Site Almost Complete, Borough Officials Announce

The site was listed on the EPA's National Priorities List in 2008, making it eligible for federal clean-up funds.

Clean up at the Chem Fab Superfund site on North Broad Street will be substantially completed this week, Doylestown Borough officials have announced.

The Chem Fab Superfund site, located at 300-360 North Broad Street, was once home to an electroplating and metal processing facility that operated there from 1965 to 1994.

Nearby water wells were found to be contaminated with volatile organic chemicals, including trichloroethylene (TCE) and tetrachloroethylene (PCE), even before the company shut down in 1994.
