Acme Gets Approval for Liquor License Transfer

The license was transferred from Buffalo Grill, which formerly operated on Easton Road.

Acme Market in the Doylestown Shopping Center will soon serve and sell beer. Borough officials on Wednesday approved a liquor license transfer that will allow Acme to add a 30-seat cafe to their store that serves beer. Beer will also be sold for take-out purchase.

The license was transferred from Buffalo Grill, which formerly operated on Easton Road.

Acme will join nearby grocers, including Wegmans and Weis, in offering beer. The café, to be called Frosted Mug, will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, the Intelligencer reported.

The acquisition of the liquor license is part of a regional effort by Acme to offer beer to its customers. The supermarket chain has obtained liquor licenses for its stores in Flourtown and Philadelphia, the Intelligencer reported.

The state Liquor Control Board needs to now approve the transfer.
