A woman had to be rescued from the Bucks County Horse Park in Upper Black Eddy Sunday afternoon after she became trapped under a dead horse.
The victim was walking a horse up a hill when the horse expired and fell on top of her. She became trapped and had to be freed, the Associated Press reports.
The woman was taken to St. Luke's Hospital in the Lehigh Valley and treated for non-life-threatening injuries, Philly.com posted.
Just after 3 p.m., emergency crews were dispatched to the horse park for the incident, according to scanner traffic. NBC 10 said responding rescuers were advised not to use audible sirens, as not to spook the other equines.
The Bucks County Horse Park is an over 100 acre facility operated by the county Department of Parks and Recreation and a non-profit group.
