Train and Van Collide in New Britain

Two passengers in the van sustained minor injuries from the accident, according to police.

Two people sustained minor injuries after the van they were riding in collided with a SEPTA train in New Britain Thursday evening, according to Central Bucks Regional Police Department Chief James Donnelly.

According to Donnelly, a blue Town and Country mini van got caught between the gates as the train approached around 6:30 p.m. The train struck the mini van and pushed it 550 feet along the tracks, Donnelly said.

The driver and the passenger of the mini van were transported to Abington Hospital by Chal-Brit Ambulance, Donnelly said.

No one on the train sustained any injuries.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, Donnelly said.
