Tools Worth Nearly $7,000 Stolen From Trucks

Doylestown Borough police are investigating several pricey thefts

A thief or thieves recently made off with some expensive tools from a Doylestown auto repair business.

Doylestown Borough Police Officers are investigating the report of several thefts from vehicles that were parked at Smith Wheel.

The first victim reported that several pieces of landscaping equipment were removed from a locked trailer, police said Thursday.

The trailer’s lock and clasp were cut from the trailer door sometime between Friday, Nov. 16 and Monday, Nov. 19, according to the police reports.

Two backpack blowers, a push mower, a self-propelled mower, a hand-held blower, several gas tanks, and miscellaneous tools were removed from the trailer. The missing items are valued at $4,805.

A second victim reported that a salt spreader was taken from the bed of his pickup truck during the same time frame. The salt spreader is valued at about $2,000.

A third victim reported that a diamond plate toolbox was stolen from the bed of his pickup truck sometime over the same weekend. No value for the toolbox has been provided.
