Thieves Target Unlocked Doylestown Twp Cars

Police are reminding residents again to lock their cars and homes.

The "a**holes" are at it again.

Earlier this week, an unknown thief or thieves made the rounds through a Doylestown Township neighborhood, hitting several unlocked cars.

It was the same m.o. as in another Doylestown Township neighborhood, said police chief Stephen White.

"When we arrested the juveniles in January, they were very adamant that people do this all the time," White said Thursday. "They call it 'assholing,' or going from car to car in rich neighborhoods, stealing from the 'assholes.'"

Whatever they call it, the police call it theft. Here are the locations where the vehicles - all of them reportedly unlocked - were burglarized in the neighborhood off of Old Dublin Pike:

White said there is no reason to believe that these burglaries are connected to a from unlocked cars and homes that began in November.

"This is in the Charing Cross development, not far from Pine Mill Circle where the other ones happened, but I don't necessarily think it's connected with the previous instances," White said. "It could be anybody."

"But again, people just have to lock their cars. I've been saying this  for - it's hard to believe - for almost 30 years. Just lock your cars."
