Copper Downspout Thefts Continue in Borough, Police Say

Since Oct. 2, Doylestown Borough police have received 11 additional reports of missing copper downspouts.

Thefts of copper downspouts continue in Doylestown Borough, police say.

Last week, Doylestown Patch reported that borough police received numerous reports that thieves were targeting copper downspouts. Police on Thursday said since Oct. 2, they have received 11 additional reports of missing copper downspouts.

According to police, four of the recent thefts occurred on the 200 block of W. Oakland Ave. Copper downspout thefts were also reported on E. Oakland Ave, E. State Street, Paine Street, N. Main Street, S. West Street and N. Broad Street.

The missing copper is valued in excess of $3,600, police said.
