Police: Man Tries to Steal Cart Full of Red Bull

Police say a man tried to make off with a cart full of an energy drink from the Doylestown Acme.

He must have a had a really tough time waking up.

An unidentified man recently tried to make off with a cart full of Red Bull from the Doylestown Acme, according to police reports.

A representative from the grocery store on North Main Street told police that someone tried to steal a cart full of the energy drink last week.

"I guess he needed some pep," Doylestown Borough Police Chief Jim Donnelly said Thursday.

The would-be thief was unsuccessful in his attempt. Donnelly said store employees chased the man, who dropped the Red Bull and ran off.

The Red Bull was valued at $320.05, according to police reports. 

The suspect was described as a man in his early 20s. He was last seen wearing a white baseball cap, heavy brown coat, and jeans, police said.

The incident happened on Thursday, Jan. 17 at about 8:40 a.m.

No word on whether the suspect resorted to a cup of coffee instead.
