Police Investigating Rash of Thefts From Cars

Doylestown Township Police warned people to remove valuables from their cars, and to lock their vehicles.

Doylestown Township Police are investigating another rash of thefts from vehicles in the area, they said Wednesday.

The thefts started on Sunday and continued on Tuesday, they said. Many of the targeted vehicles were unlocked, but in one instance, the thief or thieves shattered a car window to get to a purse on the front seat.

Residents are again warned to report anything suspicious to the police at 215-348-4200 and to lock their vehicles and remove items of value that are visible from inside their vehicles.

The incidents reported to police include:

On Sunday, Dec. 4, the department investigated a theft reported from a vehicle parked on Aspen Way. A Magellan GPS unit valued at $400 was reported stolen.
 
On Tues., Dec. 6, the department investigated a theft reported from a vehicle in the 700 block of Ferry Road. The window was shattered on the parked vehicle and a purse was stolen from the front seat with a small amount of cash and credit cards.
 
Also on Dec. 6, the department investigated a theft reported from an unlocked vehicle in the 700 block of Ferry Road. A pocket knife was reported stolen.
 
In addition, several other unlocked vehicles in the 700 block of Ferry Road were entered and ransacked for items, but nothing was reported stolen.
