Police Chief OK After Car Accident

Doylestown Township Chief Dean Logan was treated and released after the Friday morning crash.

Doylestown Township Police Chief Dean Logan was not seriously injured after he hit a utility pole Friday morning.

The chief was driving his police car when he hit a pole near the intersection of Route 313 and North Main Street around 10 a.m.

Township supervisors' chairman Barbara Lyons said no one else was hurt in the one-car crash.

"He had a coughing fit episode and he's not sure it he lost consciousness, but he hit the pole," Lyons said. "It was just one of those things."

Lyons said the chief was treated and released from the hospital. He was uninjured but sore because the car's airbag deployed.

The township supervisor said she was just glad neither the chief nor anyone else was hurt.

"Nobody was hurt," she said. "It was just metal."
