Perpetrators do $4,000 Worth of Damage to Van

Vandalism to the Kidd Glove van is among more than a dozen police incidents reported this week in Doylestown Borough.

A business van from sustained more than $4,000 worth of damage after being vandalized, Doylestown Borough Police reported Thursday.

The van was vandalized sometime between 7 p.m. on Friday, July 20 and 7 a.m. on Sunday, July 22, according to police reports.

The vehicle was “keyed,” and an unknown substance is believed to have been poured into to fuel tank, causing the vehicle to experience mechanical problems. It also appears as if someone attempted to remove the stereo from the vehicle, the police said.

The cost to repair the vehicle exceeds $4,000.

Disorderly Conduct

David Hans, 32, Swamp Road, Doylestown, was cited on Thursday, July 19 at approximately 12:44 p.m. after he allegedly created a disturbance and called his neighbor a derogatory name during a verbal altercation at their residence.

Trespassing

Joseph Hansen, 53, Hamilton Street, Doylestown, was cited on Thursday, July 19 at approximately 4:58 p.m. after a representative from reported that he had returned to the property again, after having been warned several times in the past.

Criminal Mischief

A vehicle parked on the tens block of E. State Street had its windshield shattered in two separate places sometime between 11 p.m. on Friday, July 20 and 7:15 a.m. on Saturday, July 21.

No estimate for the damage has been provided.

Theft

A resident of the 100 block of S. Franklin Street reported that someone removed the cushions to a wicker loveseat and chair from the front porch sometime on Saturday, July 21. The cushions are reddish brown and gold striped.

Two planters valued at approximately $60 were also taken.

Disorderly Conduct

Stephen Heagy, 28, Valley View Way, Lansdale, was cited on Sunday, July 22 at approximately 2:31 a.m. after he was allegedly observed punching another male, knocking him to the ground outside the .

The victim sustained a cut to the face but refused medical treatment.

Public Drunkenness

Allison Foster, 24, Norristown Road, Horsham, and Matthew Scanlon, 23, Ridge Road, Perkasie, were cited on Sunday, July 22 at approximately 4:46 a.m. after they were observed falling in the intersection of State and Pine Streets.

Theft

Officers received the report of a pair of Bvlgari sunglasses being stolen from the ladies restroom at on Saturday, July 21 sometime between 2:30 p.m. and 3 p.m.

The sunglasses were valued at approximately $310.

Criminal Mischief

The softball field at was “turfed” by a vehicle on Sunday, July 22 at approximately 11:55 p.m.

Video surveillance shows several cars parked in the faculty lot. One vehicle, an unknown type SUV, is then observed driving onto the field and doing “donuts.”

No estimate has been provided for the damage.

Criminal Mischief

Vehicles parked in the Lantern Hill development were egged sometime between 10 pm. on Monday, July 23 and 8 a.m. on Tuesday, July 24.

One victim reported that his vehicle was also struck the previous night.

Several vehicles parked on Bennett Drive, Scott Road, and Meadow Lane were egged over the July 20 weekend.

Theft

Someone stole a commercial size trash receptacle from the , Doyle Street, on Friday, July 20 between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m.

The bin is dark blue in color with wheels.

Drug Violations

Taylor Wire, 20, Twining Ford Drive, Richboro, was arrested on Wednesday, July 25 at approximately 9:30 p.m. after he was found to possess a glass pipe commonly used for smoking marijuana.

The pipe was observed during a traffic stop after Wire allegedly failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection of Ashland and West Streets.

Driving Under the Influence

Joseph Beavers, 30, 13th Street, Philadelphia, was arrested on Thursday, July 26 at approximately 3:30 a.m. after he was stopped for driving his vehicle well below the posted speed limit and stopping his vehicle in the middle of the roadway on Veterans Lane near the entrance to .

During the traffic stop, Beavers was noted to exhibit signs of intoxication. He was asked to perform field sobriety tests, which he failed, according to police.

Beavers was transported to Doylestown Hospital for legal blood tests.
