OSHA Investigating Buckingham Building Collapse

An unidentified worker was injured in a building collapse Thursday in Buckingham Township.

Representatives from OSHA are looking into what caused a building to collapse on an unidentified construction worker Thursday morning. The collapse occurred at a building in the Heritage Center development off York Road.

According to Jim Kettler, Buckingham Township Fire Marshal, representatives from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) were at the scene of the collapse Thursday and were expected there again Friday.

OSHA is looking in the cause and the operational practices at the site, Kettler said.

A construction worker was trapped for an hour under the building, which was in construction, after it collapsed around 8:45 a.m. The man was taken by helicopter to the hospital, according to emergency responders.
