Men Plead Guilty in Jewelry Store Robberies

Ryan Wiley and Phillip A. Prokop pleaded guilty to nearly $1 million in thefts from homes and jewelry stores.

Two men, one from Doylestown, have pleaded guilty to a string of jewelry store thefts in four counties.

Ryan Wiley, 23, of Doylestown and Phillip A. Prokop, 38, of North Wales pleaded guilty in Bucks County Court Tuesday to stealing approximately $1 million in jewelry and other valuables during a string of thefts, the Courier Times reported.

In October, the two men were charged with burglary, theft, receiving stolen property and criminal conspiracy stemming from the robbery of a Horsham jewelry store.

Horsham Police said Wiley and Prokop were identified as suspects after they attempted to sell "large quantities of jewelry" to a local pawn shop.

After Horsham filed its charges, Doylestown Borough detectives were able to link the two men to jewelry store robberies in town.

In November, the men were also charged in connection with jewelry store robberies in Newtown Township.

According to the Courier Times, Wiley and Prokop admitted to breaking into businesses and homes in Bensalem, Buckingham, Doylestown Township, Newtown Township, Warrington and Warwick. They also admitted to thefts in Montgomery County, Burlington County and Northampton County.

Wiley and Prokop will be sentenced later this year and could each face more than 20 years in jail.
