Man Charged with Forging Prescription

Doylestown Township police say the Dublin man stole a prescription pad from a local doctor's office.

 

Police say a Dublin man was behind at least one of the recent attempts to obtain narcotic painkillers from Doylestown pharmacies with fake prescriptions.

Doylestown Township police on Wednesday said they arrested Brian Tommassello, 43, of Dublin on suspicion of passing a fake prescription.

They said Tommassello stole a prescription pad from a doctor's office in the 500 block of West State Street, Doylestown Township. He then allegedly presented a forged prescription at a pharmacy on the 200 block of West State Street, Doylestown Borough, police said.

According to Bucks County court records, Tommassello was charged with one felony count of obtaining a controlled substance by forgery or deception and one misdemeanor count of theft.

Bail was set at $50,000, according to court records. Tommassello posted the required 10 percent, or $5,000, and was released from jail, pending court proceedings.

Doylestown Borough police have been investigating several cases where someone tried to obtain narcotics from area pharmacies with fake prescriptions.

On Thursday, April 26, borough police said someone presented a fake prescription to the pharmacy at 203 W. State St. The prescription was for oxycodone, a narcotic painkiller that is frequently abused for the euphoric effects it produces.

 

Here are the other recent incidents reported Wednesday by Doylestown Township police:


On May 2, Doylestown Township police investigated a retail theft that occurred at at 1661 Easton Road. Loss prevention officers observed Kayleigh Rickert, 23, of Warrington, remove merchandise valued at $10.58 from the store. Summary charges of retail theft were filed in District Court 07-2-02.

On May 2, Doylestown Township police investigated an assault which ocurred in the first block of Sauerman Road, Doylestown Township. Brian Bessinger, 29, of Langhorne, was charged with domestic related simple assault and harrassment.
On May 3, Bessinger was arraigned by District Judge Maggie Snow; bail was set at $1,000. Bessinger was remanded to the Bucks County Correctional Facility after failing to post the required 10 percent bail.

On May 7, officers investigated the report of a possible intoxicated subject laying on the sidewalk in the 200 block of North West Street, Doylestown Township. Patrick Constantine, 62, was found to be passed due to a high level of intoxication. Constantine was taken into custody for public drunkeness and later released after being issued a summary citation for public drunkeness.

On May 12, Robert Houlihan, 24, of Horsham, was stopped for traveling southbound on Easton Road at a high rate of speed. Officers said that Houlihan had an odor of alcohol about his breath, slurred speach, and bloodshot eyes. Houlihan was directed through a series of field coordination tests which he failed to complete satisfactorily.
Houlihad was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence.
