Lost Credit Card Makes Thief's Day

Finder racked up $700 in purchases in less than three hours.

It didn't take long for a missing credit card to be put to nefarious use.

Doylestown Borough Police said Thursday that they are investigating a case of credit card fraud stemming from the loss on Tuesday.

The victim told police that he lost his credit card in the area of E. State Street at about 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday, August 30.

When he contacted his bank at about 1:40 p.m., he was told that several purchases already had been made with the card, police said.

The thief's purchases totaled approximately $700, police said.

Harassment

A citation has been filed against Eun Lee, 55, Tulip Tree Court, Blue Bell, after he allegedly grabbed and pulled an acquaintance’s shirt while working at a Lacey Avenue laundry facility on Thursday, August 25 at approximately 9:37 AM.

Criminal Mischief

Three tires have been damaged on vehicles parked in the rear lot of the Ag Works between Saturday, August 20 and Thursday, August 25.

The first tire was slashed sometime between 2:30 PM and midnight on Saturday, August 20. The second tire, on a different vehicle, was slashed sometime between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM on Sunday, August 21. The third tire, on the second vehicle, was flattened sometime between 2:30 PM and 6:00 PM on Thursday, August 25.

No estimate for the damage has been provided.

Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle

Molly Broyles, 30, Cedarbrook Road, Southampton, was arrested on Friday, August 26 at approximately 11:10 AM after she allegedly took her father’s vehicle without his permission.

Broyles is also charged with driving under the influence, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving with a suspended license.

Public Drunkenness

Keith Lios, 41, Main Street, Doylestown, was cited on Friday, August 26 at approximately 5:32 PM after he allegedly threatened three individuals at a Main Street laundry facility.

Lios was also cited for harassment.

Drug Violation

Tyler Silvious, 21, Fiaba Court, Doylestown, was arrested on Friday, August 26 at approximately 11:16 PM after he was found in possession of a foil pipe commonly used for smoking marijuana and a pouch of “Cloud 9,” a synthetic controlled substance.

Silvious is also charged with public drunkenness.

Driving Under the Influence

Patrick Jackson, 22, East Port Way, Harleysville, was arrested on Saturday, August 27 at approximately 2:26 AM after he was observed traveling above the posted speed limit on W. State Street in the area of Lafayette Street.

During the traffic stop, Jackson was noted to exhibit signs of intoxication. He was asked to perform field sobriety tests, which he failed.

Jackson was transported to Doylestown Hospital for legal blood.

Criminal Mischief

Charges are pending against Eric Painter, 35, Pennington Way, Perkasie, after he allegedly broke a window at a W. Oakland Avenue gift shop and damaged a merchandise display that was in the front window.

The damage was discovered on Saturday, August 27 at approximately 8:14 AM.

No estimate for the damage has been provided.

Criminal Mischief

A plant was uprooted from the front of a W. Oakland Avenue business and placed on the roof and windshield of a vehicle parked in the area.

The damage was discovered on Saturday, August 27 at approximately 8:30 AM.

Burglary

A representative from the Liberty Station on the 200 block of W. State Street reported that someone entered the business and removed approximately $75 in wrapped coins from the office area on Sunday, August 28.

Entry is believed to have been through an unlocked rear window.

Criminal Mischief

A 16-year old male, Doylestown, has been cited for allegedly punching a hole in the wall of his residence on Wednesday, August 24.

Graffiti was observed on two Dumpsters in the area Plaza West parking lot on Thursday, September 01.

Graffiti was written in red and black marker.

Criminal Mischief

A resident of Paine Street reported that two terra cotta planters had been removed from his front porch.

The first planter was taken during the overnight hours of August 25 into August 26. The second planter was smashed in front of the residence sometime between August 26 and August 27.

The planters are valued at approximately $50.
