Jamison Man Charged with Doylestown Burglary

He is accused of burglarizing a home on North Clinton in February.

A Jamison man has been charged with burglary in what Doylestown police are saying is the latest case to be closed from a string of burglaries that plagued the area in recent months.

William Bainger, 22, of Sunrise Way, Jamison, was arrested on Thursday, March 15, Doylestown Borough police said Wednesday. Police said he was arrested on suspicion of allegedly on February 22.

Bainger allegedly stole numerous pieces of jewelry valued at approximately $15,000 and about $800 cash during the incident, police said.

Bainger was arraigned before District Justice Mark Douple and remanded to in lieu of 10 percent of $75,000 bail.

Doylestown Police Chief Jim Donnelly said this week that Bainger's arrest is the latest case to be closed through police work.

"We've had 37 burglaries in recent months, and we've now closed 27 of them," Donnelly told DoylestownPatch on Monday.

Many of the homes around Doylestown Borough and Doylestown Township were targeted during the day, when homeowners were less likely to be home.

In January, Doylestown on suspicion of burglary in connection with other incidents, including a burglary attempt on Jan. 13 on Crestland Terrace.

Robert Russel Masten, 26, was later , police said.
