Handguns, Jewelry Stolen from W Oakland Ave House, Police Say

Borough police believe a thief came through a porch door and took more than $24,000 worth of jewelry, handguns, cash and more.

Doylestown Borough Police are investigating the theft of more than $24,000 worth of guns, jewelry, cash, cameras and personal documents from a West Oakland Ave residence sometime last month. 

According to Doylestown Borough Police, numerous pieces of jewelry, several handguns, two digital cameras, personal documents, as well as cash and coins were stolen from a house on the 200 block of W. Oakland Avenue sometime between July 19 and 27.

Police believe the thief came through a porch door.

The missing items are valued at approximately $24,300, according to police.

Another theft, also in the borough, occurred sometime overnight between July 23 and 24, police said. According to information from the police, someone broke into an apartment on the 200 block of N. West Street.

Police said it appeared the thief broke the lock on the main door and took approximately $400 from a lock box as well as an iPod.
