Duo Sentenced for $1.4M Robbery Spree

Ryan Wiley and Phillip A. Prokop, who were charged in connection with robberies of two Newtown jewelry stores among others, have been sentenced.

Two men who stole $1.4 million worth of merchandise from stores and homes during robberies last year have been sentenced.

Ryan Wiley, 23, of Doylestown will serve five to 10 years in state prison. Phillip A. Prokop, 38, of North Wales will serve three to 10 years. The men were sentenced Friday.

In July, the men pleaded guilty to stealing jewelry and other valuables from businesses and homes in four counties.

Two of those robberies occurred in Newtown. Township police charged the two men in connection with a string of jewelry store robberies, including Bernie Robbins Jewelers and Mayfair Jewelers.

Wiley and Prokop also admitted breaking into businesses and homes in Bensalem, Buckingham, Doylestown, Warrington and Warwick. Thefts also occurred in Montgomery County, Burlington County and Northampton County.
